How I Fall was a cute read. It is definitely a young adult book and would probably be enjoyed more by a younger reader, but it was cute nonetheless.Ellen has a crush on Cam. He is the best, but she is the odd girl since she has CP. So nothing will ever happen there. I mean how would he ever like someone like her?
Cam has a crush on Ellen. I loved reading his POV. I loved how he has been wanting to talk to her forever, but can't seem to get up the courage. I mean why would someone so strong and brave and amazing want to be with someone like him?
Then there is Laura, the whirlwind of a new girl that leaves glitter in her wake. She is a bit crazy, but you can't help but like her. Especially when she decides that Cam and Ellen will be her new bff's. The three of them were so much fun. Cam and Ellen being forced together and trying to finally figure everything out. They are young, but I wanted them to work out. It doesn't aways happen that way especially when you have crazy parents like Cam. They were seriously out of control and I do want to read the next book to find out what happens next. These two were cute together and even though Ellen has more difficulties getting around than most she doesn't let it stop her. She was strong and capable and I loved her. She doesn't let anything get her down which is nice to read.

How I Fall eBook Anne Eliot Reviews
How I Fall is the first book I have read by Anne Elliot, and it was a real treat. Young Adult books are not my usual read, but I do enjoy some of them. It all depends on the blurb on the back.
How I Fall is about a 16 year old girl, Ellen, who has Cerebral Palsy, and how she deals with all that goes along with that, high school, friends and first love. Ellen, is not your typical teenager. She tries to be, but sometime her CP gets in the way. She is constantly tripping and falling down, thanks to one weak arm and one leg that sometimes does not cooperate with her brain.
I adored Ellen! She was strong, brave and funny. She had this constant dialog in her head about every situation she was put in. Yes, she talked to herself, which to me made her character stronger. I could just picture her in my head, and hear what her voice sounded like. She has had a crush on Cam Campbell for as long as she could remember. She thinks that he doesn't notice her, after all he is a star football player, popular, and could have any girl he wanted. What Ellen doesn't realize is that he wants her!
Cam is a star football player, smart, over 6 foot tall, and is in love with Ellen Foster. I liked Cam for many reasons. The main reason being is that he genuinely cared for Ellen, and wanted to protect her. He took up for her, when the kids at school teased and laughed at her constant falling. He took up for when his parents were talking about her and calling her 'the handicapped girl'.
I did not like Cam's parents. I wanted to actually whack them a few times. What grown person is constantly putting down another child, especially a partially handicapped child that they don't really know. It really irked me that his mother was constantly talking about Ellen like she wanted to have CP.
I enjoyed how Ellen and Cam's friendship blooms into love. It was sweet. I enjoyed the secondary characters of Patrick, Ellen's best friend, and Laura the new girl at school. Besides Ellen, Laura was a favorite of mine. She is from Ireland, funny, friendly, and a little quirky. I would have loved to have had a friend like that. She was always looking at the bright side of things. She brought Ellen out of her shell, even if that did involve a lot of glitter.
How I Fall is very well written. The story held my interest right up to the very end. You are left with a little cliffhanger at the very end, but then the book will pick back up in the next one, How I Fly, in the series. I will defiantly be reading the next book in the series, and anything else that Anne Elliot writes.
I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys sweet, teen romance.
**I was given a copy of this book by the author in exchange for my honest review. I was not required to give a positive review. All thoughts and opinions are my own, and I was not compensated in any other way.
Ellen is a high school junior with mild cerebral palsy, who has been working hard to walk without a cane. Her one true passion is photography, and she plans to win the scholarship to the Western Ontario Arts School summer program. Ellen's best friend is Patrick, who has just made it onto the school football team. They have been friends since grade seven, when they both started high school as outcasts. Cam, the school's star quarterback, has had a crush on Ellen since grade eight. Turns out Ellen has a long-standing crush on him, too. Only they have never spoken. Now Cam has joined the photography class and is trying to come up with a way to finally talk to Ellen. Then fate intervenes in the form of Irish girl Laura London. But how will Ellen react when she's forced to work on a major photography assignment with Cam and Laura when she's so used to working on her own?
The story is told from the alternating viewpoints of Ellen and Cam, with cute asides from Ellen in her parts. I enjoyed the style of writing, however, the narrative is very slow and repetitive and there was a bit too much explaining going on. In addition, the relationship between Ellen and Cam is frustrating, to say the least. They both like each other, but are afraid of saying anything. Even as they seem to be getting closer, neither of them is willing to admit their feelings to the other. The climactic scene towards the end of the book is very unrealistic and over-the-top, as are the reactions of Cam's parents. Irish girl Laura provides comic relief, but her character is a bit of a stereotype. When Ellen and Cam finally do get together, their relationship is very sweet, and I did enjoy those parts.
This story is full of teenage angst, bullying, domestic violence, family dramas, abusive parents, and physical pain. These aspects are balanced out by a sweet first love and great friendships.
Be warned, this book ends with no resolution, and the story concludes in "How I Fly".
I received this book in return for an honest review.
